The Berlinette is a coachbuilt MGB coupe made by Belgian firm Jacques Coune in the early 1960s, after the MGB Roadster arrived but before the factory GT was launched. Fewer than 56 are known to have been built, and the page says this car is one of just 12 survivors.
Its design was discussed with BMC as a possible production model, but it never went ahead. The page says the shape was thought to look too Italian, and the cars cost nearly twice as much to build as a standard MGB.
This example is the only Berlinette converted for racing. It ran at Goodwood in 2002 and 2010 under its late owner, Bob Ridgard. It has since had a full strip-down and rebuild including the whole driveline, with details available on enquiry. It is finished in red, has a manual gearbox and shows 100 miles.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Coachbuilt fastback by Carrosserie Jacques Coune, Brussels, on the MGB Mk I roadster with the standard BMC B-series 1798cc four. No performance or weight figures found that MG or Coune published for this conversion, so those are null. Around 56 were built, but there was no announced build number.).
