Listed today at Vintage & Prestige, Northampton. Last checked today.
The 300 SL Roadster replaced the gullwing coupe in 1957 and is the more usable of the pair, with conventional doors and a proper boot. This is a late-1961 car, so it has disc brakes rather than the earlier drums. It also has the aluminium engine block, which the page says was fitted in 1962 because many of the cast-iron blocks were overheating.
It has been restored and refinished in red over a cream interior. The page says it left the factory in black. It comes with luggage and a hard top. The dealer describes it as accident free, with long-term ownership by a single German owner before the restoration.
The car is in Luxembourg and can be viewed there by appointment, with EEC taxes paid. No mileage is given, and the chassis number and registration are listed as to be advised. The price on the page is in euros, at €1,300,000.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Mercedes-Benz Classic factory data: M198 3.0 straight-six with direct fuel injection, 215 PS (DIN). Top speed left null because the factory quoted several figures depending on rear axle ratio. Weight and 0-60 left null because no confirmed figure was available.).
£1,300,000 since it was listed on 6 November 2026. No changes yet.
