Listed today at The Real Car Co, Bethesda. Last checked today.
The 280SE 3.5 Convertible is the V8-powered flagship of Mercedes-Benz's 1960s open-top line, and this one is a right-hand-drive car. The dealer understands only 68 were built in that configuration, which makes it a hard car to find in the UK.
It is finished in white with a black leather interior and black hood. The car was stripped to bare metal and repainted in its original shade in the late 1980s. It has been with one family, father and daughter, since 1978, and possibly since new. The dealer is still looking into this.
The file holds many invoices, a run of MoT certificates, the original handbook and the service book. An earlier owner was the songwriter and manager Gordon Mills, whose clients included Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck. It is offered serviced and MoT tested. Chassis number 11102722001502.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Daimler-Benz factory data for the W111 280SE 3.5 Cabriolet: M116 3.5 V8, 200 PS DIN, 205 km/h. Only a 0-100 km/h time was published, so 0-60 is null. Kerb weight left null because the factory figure couldn't be confirmed.).
