Lotus Europa Twin Cam

The Europa Twin Cam, introduced in late 1971, took the 1558cc Lotus-Ford twin-cam engine from the Elan and Lotus Cortina and put it behind the driver in Chapman's glassfibre-bodied, steel-backbone coupe. It also lowered the rear sail panels for better rearward vision. This 1972 car is in its original Lotus Yellow (L07), with no colour change recorded, and 57,265 miles.

It has a Lotus Classic Certificate of Vehicle Provenance. Chassis and engine numbers are confirmed as matching, and factory records show it was built in December 1971 and supplied in component form via Hallamshire Motor Company. Silver wheels with trims are the recorded factory option.

The selling dealer has looked after it since November 2023, invoicing about £7,650 across four visits. The work includes new Yokohama A539 tyres, adjustable front and rear dampers and springs, a new rear lower arm and bushes, a refurbished front anti-roll bar and a full alignment for road use. Classic Lotus services were carried out in 2024 and December 2025. The MOT runs to 21 December 2026, with a single advisory for a slight engine oil leak.
