The 135R was a limited, more focused take on the Series 1 Elise, built around a short-ratio gearbox and a Rover K-series engine with a gas-flowed head, bespoke ECU and exhaust. Its Bilstein Sport damper setup is widely rated as one of the best chassis tunings Lotus offered on the car.
