The Elan Sprint was the final and fastest evolution of Colin Chapman's lightweight roadster, and this 1971 drophead coupé is finished in Lotus yellow over white. It sits on a galvanised replacement chassis, a worthwhile upgrade on a car that is prone to chassis corrosion.
It has had two owners since 1985, and the selling dealer supplied it to the most recent keeper in 2001. The history file includes the original owner's handbook, a Classic Lotus certificate of provenance and a Club Lotus valuation certificate from 2021 at £50,000. The original jack is also included.
The car was fully repainted in 1997. More recent work includes an engine rebuild about 7,000 miles ago, new suspension, a new dashboard and a new hood. The odometer reads 93,000 miles.
