Listed today at Legends Automotive, Farmington. Last checked today.
The Lola T298 was a mid-engined sports-prototype of the late 1970s, and only sixteen were built. This one, chassis HU-102, has a competition history that is hard to beat in its field: four consecutive FIA European Hill Climb Championships from 1989 to 1992 with Andres Vilarino, run with Repsol sponsorship.
The car was originally delivered to McCarthy/Weeuil before passing to Vilarino. The current owner bought it in 1994 and took six Canarian Hill Climb Championships with it. It now has a BMW S14 2.5-litre engine prepared by Armaroli Motor Sport of Bologna. Going back to an M12 unit is described as straightforward. The transaxle is the original Hewland FGA 429 (400).
The original chassis plate, homologation form and Lola documents come with the car, along with a comprehensive spares pack. The price is on application.
