This 1949 Jaguar Mark V is an early car, number 48 off the line, and the dealer says chassis, engine, body and gearbox all match. It is a right-hand-drive 2.5-litre with twin SU carburettors, a four-speed manual gearbox and an original sunroof. The Mark V was Jaguar's last pre-Mark VII saloon with a separate chassis, and it is much rarer than the Bentleys and Rolls-Royces of the period.
The car comes from long Belgian ownership. During restoration the front end was rebuilt to look like the Mark IV, with separate P100 headlamps. The woodwork has been fully restored and the interior has red leather and new carpets. It is finished in maroon over cream. The indicated mileage is 91,858.
Recent work includes four new tyres and a refurbished suspension and braking system in 2020, plus a new condenser and points, an oil service and renewed rubber water hoses. It is registered in Belgium with European taxes paid. The dealer plans to register it in the UK.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Jaguar's period published engine figures (2,663 cc OHV straight-six, 102 bhp). The factory weight and performance figures can't be verified, so they're left null.).
