Listed today at Hilton & Moss, Bishop's Stortford. Last checked today.
This is a CAV GT40, a modern recreation of the Mk1 Le Mans winner built by Cape Advanced Vehicles around a stainless steel monocoque. It is not a Ford-built car, but a continuation-style build that follows the 1960s original closely in its proportions and layout.
Power comes from a Bennett Race-built Ford 348ci V8 with period-correct downdraught 48 IDA carburettors, rated at 500hp. It is paired with a Quaife ZFQ five-speed manual with a right-hand shift, as on the works cars. Other specification points include Koni adjustable dampers, Wilwood four-pot brakes, an MSD 6AL ignition, Tillett seats and Smiths instruments.
First registered in May 2021, it passed the IVA process and is road legal. It has covered just under 1,000 miles, and is finished in Ecurie Ecosse Blue. The dealer has inspected and serviced it before sale. The price is on application.
