This is an early Fiat 500 D from 1961, a rare right-hand-drive example brought to the UK from New Zealand. It has the front-hinged 'suicide' doors of the early cars and the full-length folding Transformable roof, here in beige.
A two-year nut-and-bolt restoration by Jaggard & Moore (formerly JD Classics) has just finished, and the car shows 10 miles since. The chassis was stripped and repainted in original Verde Chiaro, known as Pistacchio Green, and the interior is trimmed in pale green vinyl. The page says the replacement components came from a leading UK Fiat parts specialist.
The car has been modified to be more usable on modern roads. It has a rebuilt 649cc engine, a four-speed synchromesh gearbox and front disc brakes. It also has replacement wheels with hubcaps, white wall tyres and a tinted top screen.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Only the layout is given (Fiat's air-cooled rear twin, RWD, built in Turin). The Trasformabile was mostly replaced by the 500 D around 1960, so 1961 factory figures (479 vs 499.5 cc, output, weight, speed) could not be confirmed and are left null.).
£59,995 since it was listed on 5 November 2026. No changes yet.
