The Dino 246 GTS added a removable targa roof to Ferrari's mid-engined V6 coupé in 1972, and only 1,274 were built before production ended in 1974. This right-hand-drive car was completed in October 1973 and supplied new through importer Maranello Concessionaires and Pennine Motors of Harrogate. It was finished in Bianco Polo Park over Blu 135 with blue carpets and electric windows, and it keeps that combination today.
Its history is unusual. From 1974 until 2021 it belonged to Prince Alwaleed Al Saud, first wearing the cherished UK registration 3 HRH, then leaving the UK in 2007 for Geneva, where it carried diplomatic plates. The file holds invoices for restoration work in 2009 by Ferrari Modena Motors and later work by Niki Hasler Ferrari in Basel, and the car was Classiche certified in March 2010.
DK Engineering handled it after its 2021 sale. In July 2024 the car had an engine-out service with both head gaskets replaced, followed by a dry-ice clean, repainted heat shields, new drop link and ball joint boots, and a lower idle speed. The odometer reads 45,000 miles. The price is on application.
