Chassis FJ-9-63 was the works Brabham BT6 driven by Denny Hulme in the 1963 Formula Junior season, the last year Brabham built a car specifically for the category. Over fourteen races Hulme took six wins, four second places and a third, with nine pole positions, and finished second in the British championship, one point behind Peter Arundell's Lotus.
The car's history runs well beyond Europe. It was converted to Lotus-Ford twin-cam power for Frank Gardner's 1964 Tasman campaign with Alec Mildren Racing, then won the 1965 New Zealand 1.5 Litre Formula Championship with Roly Levis. Later owners include Bill Stone, who went on to co-found Reynard. It was dismantled in 1970, restored in Australia from 1999 and returned to racing in 2001.
The current owner bought it in 2017 and returned it to Formula Junior specification with a Geoff Richardson engine. It has won races in that ownership, most recently running at Misano in October 2025. It comes with valid FIA HTP papers, a large history file and a spares package, and is eligible for the FIA Lurani Trophy and FJHRA events. Price is on application.
