Bentley Turbo R

The Turbo R was the fast Bentley of its day: a turbocharged 6.75-litre V8 in a body that, on standard wheels, looked much like a Mulsanne S or Eight. This 1988 car is an early example with electronic fuel injection and ABS, built before the later 1990 model-year changes. It sits on its original 15-inch wheels with 255/65 Avon tyres, and has not been fitted with larger wheels or a modified exhaust.

It is finished in Vermillion with a Magnolia interior and shows 36,750 miles. The dealer says the speedometer was replaced by Bentley at 21,788 miles, and that 36,750 is the true total. Original features include mud flaps, rear quarter badges and lambswool over rugs. It has the later twin headlamps and a high-level stop lamp from the 1992 model year.

The service history is described as complete, with the original books, service booklet, large and small tools and a period brochure. The previous owner kept it for six years and used a specialist for servicing. It was serviced in June, and the dealer has since fitted a new air conditioning compressor and expansion valve. The cherished number plate shown in some photographs will not be included in the sale.
