This S3 Continental carries the six-light Flying Spur body, a design that began as an H.J. Mulliner shape and was badged Mulliner/Park Ward after the two coachbuilders merged. Chassis BC18XA was the first right-hand-drive car of the 66 built to Design No 2011.
It was finished in October 1962 in Regal Red with a beige interior and kept by Jack Barclay as a demonstrator until 1965. Two private owners followed in Berkshire and Gloucestershire. The car later went to a Texas collection in the United States, where a concours-level restoration was started in a private workshop.
Frank Dale bought it with that work nearly complete, repatriated it and finished the restoration. It is now in Gunmetal Grey with light grey leather. Period-style air conditioning sits on the rear parcel shelf, and a fitted luggage set goes in the boot. The history file, original handbooks, copy chassis cards and tools are included. No mileage is stated.
