Bentley S3 Continental Drophead Coupé

This S3 Continental drophead coupé carries coachwork by HJ Mulliner Park Ward and is one of the last of its kind. According to the original build records, it was delivered new to Jersey in February 1966. It was the last Continental delivered to the Channel Islands and the fifth from last ever built. The 6.2-litre engine breathes through twin SU carburettors and drives through a four-speed automatic gearbox.

Its history is well documented. The first owner was the Marquis of Normandy, and by the late 1970s it was with Aston Martin Sales in Knightsbridge. It then spent a decade in the US, returning to the UK in 1989. Three owners have had it since then. The mileage was about 38,600 at the time of its return and is now 74,994.

The car has not had a full restoration. The most recent owner is said to have spent more than £100,000 on mechanical and structural upkeep, with bills on file, and used it for long-distance touring in Europe and New Zealand. The interior was retrimmed in grey and blue before it went to the US, and the hood is now mohair rather than the original Everflex. It has electric windows, a hydraulic hood, a full-size tonneau cover, a new spare wheel and a Becker Mexico Retro stereo with sat nav.
