Listed today at Frank Dale, Sandhurst. Last checked today.
The 8 Litre was the last and largest Bentley produced by the original Bentley Motors, and only about one hundred were built. This one, chassis YM5036, was completed in May 1932 as a 13-foot chassis with open two-seater Wylder coachwork, supplied through Jack Barclay.
Its appearance today comes from later work. The chassis was shortened to 12 feet in the 1940s and given a Hotchkiss drophead body. Stanley Mann bought the rolling chassis in 1991, when the odometer showed 31,000 miles. Over four years he built the Vanden Plas style tourer body it now wears, with side-mounted spare wheels, a black hood and tonneau, and separate Le Mans screens. It is finished in British Racing Green over green leather, with three SU carburettors, and the page says it keeps its original engine.
It was sold to a German collector in 2006 and to its current owner in 2022. It is described as a believed low-mileage car, regularly used and well maintained. It is currently in the United States, where it is also registered, and is right-hand drive.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Bentley Motors (Cricklewood) engine specs; 100 mph is Bentley's guaranteed speed with any body. Power and weight are left out because figures vary and each coachbuilder made its own body.).
