This 1928 Bentley 4.5 Litre carries chassis number KM3083 and is registered UC 8791. It began life as a Martin Walter saloon, and in 2011 it was rebuilt as a Le Mans-style open tourer by the late Stanley Mann. That makes it a rebuilt period special rather than an original open-bodied car, a point worth weighing when comparing prices.
Mann's work list is long. The engine, numbered KM3086, has a replacement crankcase converted to shell bearings, plus a new crankshaft, club pistons and block, and steel roller-bearing rockers. Everything was balanced. The rear axle has a new 3.53 club crown wheel and pinion, and an overdrive is fitted. The BS-type gearbox was overhauled with D-type ratios. The brakes were overhauled with new drums and Le Mans-type adjusters. The car also has rebuilt cord-bound springs, new shock absorbers, wheels and tyres, and Zeiss headlamps with halogen bulbs.
The dealer says the car has seen sparing use since the conversion and that the engine is now run in. No mileage or ownership history is given.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Bentley heritage figures (4398cc inline-4, 110 bhp). There are no reliable 1928 factory figures for weight, top speed or acceleration, so these are null.).
