Listed today at AutoVero, Much Hadham.
A 1978 Aston Martin V8 Series 3 with automatic transmission, finished in Windsor Red over biscuit leather. It has the wooden instrument binnacle of the earlier V8s, a feature many enthusiasts prefer, along with a wooden steering wheel.
The current owner bought it in 2024 from the estate of a keeper who had it for 22 years, and much of the earlier history has been lost. Since then roughly £40,000 has been spent. EAB Classics of Essex restored the chassis, replaced the sills, refurbished the suspension and fitted an upgraded braking system. Cambridge Concours added a new roof-lining and other interior work.
Earlier work includes a steering rack and brake caliper overhaul, a reconditioned servo and master cylinder, a JMB uprated water pump, an uprated alternator and an auxiliary electric vacuum pump for the brakes. The car shows 77,000 miles, has had six keepers and has MOT to May 2026. It is now sold.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Engine layout from Aston Martin heritage specifications (5,340 cc quad-cam V8, Weber carbs). Aston Martin did not publish official power output in this era, and performance and weight figures come only from period road tests, so those are null.).
