Car number 1954 is one of the earliest surviving Aston Martins, built by Bamford & Martin in 1925 as a 1½-litre side-valve and recognised by both the Aston Martin Owners' Club and the Aston Martin Heritage Trust. Its history can be traced through a 1926 agents' list and the Works records of the early 1930s.
The car was rebuilt over some twenty years by Andy Bell of Ecurie Bertelli, around original components. These include a racing radiator thought to come from the 'Swiss Car', chassis 1950, and the crankcase and close-ratio gearbox of 1925, the last Works Brooklands racer. The engine has a new block, billet crankshaft, Carrillo-type rods and domed pistons, and is fed by a rebuilt Centric supercharger.
The new ash-framed body copies the 1922 Strasbourg team cars and is panelled in hand-finished 14-gauge aluminium over a deep red interior. Completed in 2025 and tested at Mondello Park, it is road registered as WC 1828 with historic tax status, and comes with a full history file. It is eligible for VSCC and other pre-war events.
