Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider

The Giulia Spider replaced the Giulietta Spider in 1962, keeping Pininfarina's compact open-top shape but moving to the larger 1,570cc twin-cam four. In Tipo 101.19 form it made around 92 bhp through a five-speed manual gearbox. This one was built in December 1963 and sold new in 1965 through Alfa Romeo's Aden dealership in Yemen, which explains its rare factory right-hand drive layout. It is believed to be one of only 404 made that way.

The car was first registered in the UK in June 1966 and still wears its original Grigio grey over a Rosso red interior. A full restoration between 2015 and 2019 included a bare-metal repaint, metalwork by Tubeworks of Cheltenham and an engine rebuild by marque specialist Bob Dove. The interior was retrimmed with new foams, vinyl and carpets, and the suspension, brakes, fuel, cooling and electrical systems were also addressed.

The current owner bought it in June 2019 and has used it sparingly. The history file holds restoration invoices and photographs, MOT records back to 1979 and an Alfa Romeo Certificato di Origine issued in June 2023. It shows 70,160 miles.
