This is AR010, one of only 26 Alfa Corse-built 75 Turbo Evoluzione cars made for Group A racing, and the only right-hand-drive example. The 1.8 turbo engine was reduced from 1779cc to 1762cc so that, with the 1.7 forced-induction multiplier, the car fitted the 3.0-litre class. Alfa Corse also lightened and stiffened the body.
It was a works development car. The right-hand-drive layout was tried to move the driver's weight to the inside of the corner on clockwise circuits. It also carries a split De Dion rear axle that works like independent suspension, adjustable for toe, camber, roll centre and ride height. The dealer believes it later served as a test bed for IMSA-specification parts, including the larger turbo and a carbon strut brace. It was sold after the 1987 season, spent time in a museum in Turin, and then came to the UK.
The car is in Alfa Rosso with period white livery. The dealer describes straight bodywork with no corrosion or obvious repair. Inside are a single Fusina Racing bucket seat, red TRS harnesses, a grey-painted roll cage and a plumbed-in extinguisher. It runs well and recently did demonstration laps at Zandvoort, and it has been reunited with its original ECU. The dealer says it needs some refreshing before serious competition. A history folder with invoices and mechanical notes is included, and FIA HTP paperwork is pending. Price is on application.
