Volkswagen T2 Bay Window Westfalia Oxford

This is a 1977 Volkswagen T2 Bay Window in factory right-hand-drive Westfalia 'Oxford' form, a special-order conversion that is among the rarer Westfalia layouts. It has a link to Volkswagen's Tourist Delivery Programme and is registered as a Historic Vehicle, so it is exempt from MOT and road tax.

Power comes from the 1,598cc air-cooled flat-four with a four-speed manual gearbox. The gearbox is the heavy-duty 091 six-rib type, regarded as the strongest fitted to late Bay Window models. A Fireboy automatic fire suppression system has been added in the engine bay.

The bodywork was restored by Southcoast Wagenwerks, with a number of panels replaced, and the car has been garage stored since. Inside, the Westfalia plaid upholstery, original cabinetry, rock and roll bed, elevating-roof double bed and child's hammock bunk are all present. Kitchen equipment includes a two-burner Cramer hob, sink and a two-way fridge. There is also a leisure battery with split-charge, a modern Sony stereo and an unused NLAVW awning. The dealer says it will be serviced before collection or delivery and sold with 12 months' MOT. No mileage is stated.
