Toyota Corolla Levin AE86 GT Apex

A 1986 Toyota Corolla Levin AE86 in GT Apex form, the rear-drive Japanese-market coupe that became a drift and touge icon. This one is a modified car rather than a standard survivor, so it suits someone who wants the tuned version.

The 4A-GE 16V has been fitted with 20V throttle bodies, a tubular manifold, a Freedom ECU, TODA 272 cams and a Tomei cam pulley. A genuine Toyota head gasket, water pump and timing belt kit were fitted about 1,500 km ago, with the head reworked and uprated head bolts. The clutch is also recent, at about 3,000 km. Power is sent through a five-speed manual and a 1.5-way diff.

The car has been resprayed in custom black with pearl blue. It has coilovers, a rear Cusco brace, front strut tower plates, uprated front brakes and braided lines. Inside are a Nardi wheel, Defi gauges, a Bride driver's seat and a Recaro passenger seat, and the A/C and heater work. TE37 Spec SR or Watanabe wheels are offered.
