About this car
This is a GT40 recreation built in 2008 by Roaring Forties, a company widely regarded as one of the leading makers of such replicas. It is a right-hand-drive car with an aluminium-panelled spaceframe chassis, finished in Imperial Blue with silver stripes and first registered in May 2008.
Power comes from a 5.6-litre fuel-injected V8 quoted at more than 450 bhp. It drives through an Audi 01E six-speed transaxle, which was new when the car was built, and a Quaife limited-slip differential. The final drive is geared for 190 mph at 6,000 rpm in sixth.
The cabin has leather seats with Schroth five-point harnesses for both occupants, carpets throughout and air conditioning. The car has covered 2,500 miles and has had two private owners.
