About this car
One of just 50 right-hand-drive examples supplied to the UK, this 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo SE 'Flachbau' represents one of the most collectible air-cooled 911 variants ever produced. The Flachbau — or 'flatnose' — conversion was a factory Sonderwunsch special order, replacing the standard wings with pop-up headlamps in a design inspired by the 935 race car. Finished in Grand Prix White over a Sonderwunsch Matador Red leather interior, this is an exceptionally striking colour combination that sets it apart from the more commonly seen black-on-black examples.
The specification is rich with period Sonderwunsch details: gold Porsche logos on the gear lever, glovebox latch, steering wheel, and climate control panel, along with a fully leather-trimmed instrument panel, climate control surround, and steering wheel centre. The 3.3-litre turbocharged flat-six produces 330 bhp through the desirable G50 five-speed manual gearbox — a significant improvement over the earlier 915 unit. Fuchs alloy wheels and air conditioning complete the factory specification.
With just 11,000 miles recorded, this is a remarkably low-mileage survivor. The 930 Turbo SE Flachbau commands a significant premium over standard Turbos, and UK right-hand-drive examples with verified Sonderwunsch interiors in this condition are exceptionally rare on the open market.
