Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 RS Style

This 1974 911 is not a factory Carrera RS but a long-running homage to one. Since the mid-1980s it has been rebuilt in the 3.0 RS style, with wide arches, lightweight panels and polycarbonate glazing, and it has kept evolving under a succession of enthusiast owners and UK Porsche specialists.

The air-cooled flat-six is now a twin-spark, carburetted 3.0-litre with a suggested 300 hp, paired with a close-ratio 915 five-speed manual and a Quaife limited-slip differential. Underneath are Bilstein suspension, wide Fuchs alloys on Toyo Proxes tyres and twin-pot brakes from the 930 Turbo.

The interior is stripped for driving, with a rear roll cage, Recaro Pole Position seats, four-point harnesses, lightweight door cards, a fire extinguisher and a brake bias switch. It is finished in orange, said to be its original colour, and the odometer reads 56,314 miles. A history file holds invoices and detailed parts lists. The dealer describes it as a used car, not a perfect one, and it is currently reserved.
