2016 Morgan Aero 8 S5

A Series 5 Morgan Aero 8, the final and most refined evolution of Morgan's aluminium-chassied flagship, finished in the distinctive Metallic Everest Blue. The S5 represented a significant visual departure from earlier Aero 8s, replacing the controversial cross-eyed headlamps with a cleaner, more classical front end while retaining the BMW 4.8-litre V8 underneath. With 367 bhp driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox, this is an increasingly rare combination in an era of paddle-shift dominance.

This 2016 example has covered 18,750 miles, a sensible amount that suggests regular use without excess. The Aero 8 was always a low-volume car built largely by hand at the Pickersleigh Road factory in Malvern Link, and the S5 generation was produced in particularly limited numbers before the model was succeeded by the Plus Eight and eventually the Plus Six. Finding one in this colour with a manual transmission represents a genuinely uncommon opportunity.

As one of the last naturally aspirated V8 Morgans, the Aero 8 S5 occupies a unique position — part traditional British sports car, part modern GT, and entirely unlike anything else on the road.
