Mercedes-Benz SL SL500 Silver Arrow

The Silver Arrow was the final run-out edition of the R129 SL, built to mark the end of production in 2001. This right-hand-drive SL500 is one of just 100 made for the UK, and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed off by Sir Stirling Moss, plus a 1:18 scale model of his W196 Silver Arrow.

The specification is distinctive: Silver Arrow Metallic paint (code 777), two-tone silver and anthracite Nappa leather, black bird's-eye maple trim, an aluminium gearshift gate and Silver Arrow badging inside and out. It was ordered new with the panoramic glass hard top and the AMG body styling kit, and rides on 18-inch multi-piece alloy wheels. Power comes from the 4,999cc V8, with 320 bhp sent through a five-speed automatic.

It has covered 27,000 miles, which the MOT record backs up, and has had three registered keepers. The history file includes the original 2001 bill of sale from a Mercedes-Benz main dealer, a full main dealer service history, the original handbooks and wallet, and the limited edition literature.
