Mercedes-Benz SL 280SL

The 280SL is the last and most capable of the W113 "Pagoda" Mercedes-Benz SLs, and this 1970 automatic is finished in White (040) over Black leather (241).

It was supplied new by Normand Mayfair and used daily until the mid-1980s. The paperwork shows 70,000 miles by 1986. The current owner bought it in 1988 and has kept it for about 37 years. An overhaul followed in 1999 at 77,000 miles. Silchester Garage then carried out cosmetic and mechanical work at around 83,000 miles, and overhauled the suspension and rear axle in 2019. Wilkinsons Coachbuilders of Derby have since refreshed it.

The odometer reads 84,700 miles. The car comes with a service history, photographs of the 1999 restoration and the original handbook pack, including the service booklet and spare parts catalogue.
