Mercedes-Benz S-Class 300 SEL 6.3

The 300 SEL 6.3 is generally regarded as the first modern super saloon. Mercedes-Benz fitted the W109 body with the M100 V8 from the flagship 600, creating a discreet four-door with performance to match contemporary sports cars. Period figures put its acceleration ahead of a Porsche 911S and level with a Ferrari 365 GTC.

This left-hand-drive car from 1969 has been fully restored. It is finished in Tunis Beige Metallic over dark brown leather and keeps its original, numbers-matching 6.3-litre V8 with Bosch mechanical fuel injection. It has an automatic gearbox and air suspension.

Two options are rare on a 6.3: factory air conditioning and a factory power sunroof. It also has its Becker Mexico radio with power antenna. It comes with its original Data Card, owner's manual and service booklet. The page gives no mileage or ownership history.
