The AMG GT 63 Launch Edition represents Mercedes-AMG's opening statement for its all-new GT platform — deliberately over-specified at launch to demonstrate the car in its most complete form. This UK-supplied example has covered just 2,824 miles from a single owner and remains under Mercedes-Benz manufacturer warranty until March 2028.

Finished in MANUFAKTUR Alpine Grey — a £4,000 cost-option paint — and sitting on 21-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels in Matte Techgold, the visual package is coherent and purposeful. The Launch Edition brings AMG high-performance ceramic brakes with bronze calipers, the Aerodynamics Package with static rear spoiler, and the Exterior Carbon Package as standard. Crucially, the Launch Edition deletes the rear seats entirely, returning the GT to a two-seat sports coupé layout. Inside, Nappa leather with MICROCUT microfibre trim and AMG Performance Seats are joined by the Burmester surround sound system, head-up display, and rear-axle steering — a specification that leaves little room to improve.

Power comes from AMG's hand-built 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 577 bhp, driven through a nine-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT gearbox to all four wheels. The numbers — 3.2 seconds to 62 mph, 196 mph flat out — are strong, but the broader significance of the GT 63 is its refusal to hybridise at a time when much of the AMG range has moved on. As a pure petrol V8 performance coupé from a major manufacturer, it is already becoming a rarer proposition.
