Mercedes-Benz 280SL

A R107-generation 280SL with a warranted 41,750 miles, which is very little for a car of its age. It is fitted with the smooth 2.8-litre straight-six and a four-speed automatic, and benefits from the post-1980 facelift changes, including electric windows, improved heating and ventilation and a cleaner front end.

The history file is substantial, with servicing recorded from 4,090 miles through Mercedes-Benz dealers in Clapham and Huddersfield, then Cragside and a North Yorkshire marque specialist, and MOTs back to 1987. First registered on 1 December 1983, it spent its early years in Clapham before moving to North Yorkshire, where it has remained.

The most recent owner kept it for sixteen years with conservative use. It has covered about 150 miles since returning to the dealer.
