Mercedes-Benz 190 SL

The 190 SL gave Mercedes-Benz a more affordable, smaller sibling to the 300 SL, pairing similar styling with a 1.9-litre four-cylinder engine. Around 26,000 were built, most of them sold in the United States, and only about 562 were made in right-hand drive. This is one of those cars.

It was first registered in January 1961 and still wears its original plate, 56 HYL. A nut-and-bolt restoration was completed in 2023 at a cost of nearly £200,000, and the work is documented with invoices and photographs. The car has had four owners from new, and the first owner's details are recorded in the original registration book.
