The MP4-12C GT Can-Am was conceived as the ultimate track version of McLaren's first modern road car, with more power and more aggressive aerodynamics than the GT3 racer it sits alongside. This car, chassis 001, is believed to be one of only three built and the only one still in its original factory specification. It is left-hand drive, finished in McLaren Orange and uses a sequential gearbox.
It has been with one owner from new, a prominent supercar collector, and was used sparingly before recently being brought back into service as a back-up car. The odometer reads 1,970 miles (about 3,170km). Recent work includes a new fuel cell and a transmission refresh, with 0km showing on the gearbox since.
It comes with the original McLaren sales invoice, the factory information pack and a component life sheet. A factory spares package is also included, covering everything needed to convert the car to GT3 specification. That would open up series such as the Peter Auto GT3 Revival and GT3 Legends.
