Maserati Quattroporte DuoSelect

The fifth-generation Quattroporte was Maserati's Pininfarina-styled return to the big saloon class under Ferrari ownership. It pairs a 4.2-litre V8 of roughly 400 bhp with a rear-mounted six-speed DuoSelect automated manual, an arrangement that gives it near-even weight distribution and a more engaging drive than the later torque-converter cars.

This example was first registered in January 2005 and has covered just 15,500 miles. It is finished in Blu Nettuno metallic over Crema leather with Blondo carpets. Factory options include the Sport Pack, electric glass sunroof, rear climate control, CD changer, telephone preparation and the rarely seen rear-seat entertainment system. The original price was £81,500.

It was supplied new by Maranello Sales in Egham and spent much of its life with its first owner, serviced early on by H. R. Owen in London. Before its previous sale a specialist carried out recommissioning: a major service, rectification of identified faults and four new tyres. The history file includes the original sales order, a letter from Luca di Montezemolo and the Maserati book pack.
