Lotus Esprit Turbo

This 1981 Lotus Esprit Turbo is an early dry-sump car, the 2,174cc turbocharged Giugiaro wedge that lifted the Esprit into genuine supercar territory. It is finished in Copper Fire Metallic, a colour the page says only five right-hand-drive cars received from the factory, and it echoes the Esprit Turbo seen in For Your Eyes Only.

First supplied by Norfolk Motor Company in Norwich in Calypso Red with champagne leather, it was resprayed in 2022 during a refurbishment by Stocks Sports Cars between 2021 and 2023. RMS carried out the engine work. It has refurbished 4-stud Compomotive wheels on nearly new Pirelli tyres and a period overhead Panasonic stereo.

The odometer reads 33,454 miles, but the page states the true figure is 53,454 because the speedometer was changed in February 1986. The history file holds invoices, MOT certificates back to 1992, the owner's manual and a DVLA list of earlier owners. A period off the road from 2008 is noted. The current owner has had it since February 2023, with a major service in June 2025.
