2009 Land Rover Defender 90 LS3 V8 Conversion
£109,990
About this car
This 2009 Defender 90 has had its original 2.4-litre diesel replaced with a brand-new 6.2-litre Corvette LS3 V8, rated at 430 bhp and 424 lb-ft. That is more than three times the output of the 122 bhp TDCi it left the factory with. It is paired with a Tremec 6-speed manual gearbox and an upgraded transfer box, and the swap is backed by bespoke engine mounts, a standalone wiring harness and ECU, and a full stainless-steel ECAT exhaust.
The work goes well beyond the engine. The truck sits on a new galvanised chassis with air suspension, new bushes throughout and uprated LOF 6-pot brake calipers to cope with the extra power. ARB air lockers, a Rhino power winch, an onboard compressor, an underfloor toolbox and a secure underfloor safe point to serious off-road intent. Inside there are bespoke seats, an upgraded dashboard and audio system, and a diesel-fired heater.
It is a 2009 (59-plate) example showing 1 mile, with the rebuild effectively resetting its life, and it comes with a full service history. Finished in green, it is a V8 Defender built for fast road use, touring or off-road work, rather than a standard 90.
