Land Rover 90 Electric

This Land Rover 90 began as an ordinary 2014 Defender, first registered on 31 December 2014, and spent its first nine years in regular use. In February 2023 its fourth owner had it converted to electric power by Electrogenics of Oxfordshire, at a reported cost of £76,000.

The conversion keeps the original chassis, body and transfer case. A water-cooled motor at the front produces 160 bhp and 310Nm, close to the output of the original engine, and drives through a 2.9:1 single-speed reduction gear. There are three driving profiles and a dedicated off-road mode. The build is to R100.01 standards, with an expected range of about 120 miles.

Charging is by 6.6kW AC Type 2, taking about ten hours for a full charge, or 60kW CCS rapid charging, which takes 20 to 80% in around 40 minutes. The page gives no mileage.
