Lamborghini Islero GT

The Islero replaced the 400 GT in 1968 and was styled by a team of former Touring staff led by Mario Marazzi, after the Milan coachbuilder had closed. It is often said to have been one of Ferruccio Lamborghini's favourite cars, and he used one as his own daily transport.

Chassis 6177 was delivered new to Switzerland in left-hand-drive form, then exported to the USA. A long-term owner dismantled it in the 1980s but died before the work was finished, and it stayed in pieces until his estate sold it. Marque specialist Gary Bobileff carried out restoration work before the car returned to Europe in the late 1990s and reached the UK in 2004.

The current owner then commissioned Furlonger to restore it fully. The car was stripped completely, each mechanical component was removed, inspected and renewed to original specification, and it received a bare-metal respray and new interior trim. Originally Rosso, it is now in Verde Metallizzato over Tan, a period combination echoing the Islero owned by Ferruccio's brother Edmondo. The dealer holds photographs and invoices documenting the work.
