About this car
This is Jordan 191 chassis 6, one of only seven 191s built and one of two that can be tied to Michael Schumacher. The 191 was the team's first Formula 1 car, drawn by Gary Anderson and started life as the 911 before a request from Porsche's lawyers changed the name. It is often cited as one of the best-looking F1 cars of its era.
Chassis 6 was completed in June 1991 and first raced by Andrea de Cesaris at the Hungarian Grand Prix, where he finished seventh. At Spa that August Schumacher, standing in for the jailed Bertrand Gachot, drove it for the rest of Friday practice after his own car developed a water leak. A letter from Trevor Foster, then Jordan's team manager and race engineer, confirms this. De Cesaris raced the car in the Belgian Grand Prix, running second before an engine failure near the end. It was then used as a spare car for the remaining 1991 races.
Power comes from a 3.5-litre Ford HB V8 producing 650 bhp at 14,000 rpm, with a six-speed H-pattern manual gearbox. The car was driven by Mick Schumacher and Karun Chandhok at Silverstone for Sky Sports F1 in 2021. The price is on application and viewing is by appointment. No mileage is given.
