Jaguar XK150 3.8 Litre SE Drophead Coupe

This is a 1960 Jaguar XK150 3.8 SE drophead coupe with overdrive, chassis S838929. The 3.8-litre SE was the last and most capable of the XK150 line, and the dealer says this car is within the final 100 built. It left the factory on 8 September 1960 for New York as a left-hand-drive, matching-numbers car, and was later found in California. It is now right-hand drive and UK-registered.

The car stood for many years before a five-year, nut-and-bolt restoration, which the page describes as solid and rust-free at the start. The work added a number of changes to make it easier to drive today: hydraulic power steering, an upgraded servo, aluminium four-pot front calipers, an aluminium fuel tank and radiator, an electronic cooling fan and electronic ignition. The engine has high-compression pistons, an unleaded-compatible cylinder head and a high-flow oil pump. A stainless exhaust, K&N air filter and Michelin Pilot X tyres are also fitted. Inside are full leather trim, a high-gloss wooden dashboard centre and a matching wooden steering wheel.

The current owner bought it from the dealer about three years ago, kept it in a heated garage and has added only a few hundred miles. No odometer reading is given. It is being sold because of the owner's eyesight, and viewing is by appointment near Macclesfield.
