1992 Jaguar XJ220

Chassis number 33 of just 281 XJ220s built, this 1992 car in Monza Red over beige leather is a rare survivor of Jaguar's early-90s supercar ambitions. Its 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 produces 542 bhp and the car is good for a claimed 217 mph, which made it the fastest production car of its day. The page shows 2,000 miles from new.

Delivered on 16 December 1992, it formed part of the Belgian Jaguar importer's private collection before reaching its first UK owner in 2015 with just 1,080 km recorded. Since then it has been used sparingly. In 2016 XJ220 specialists Don Law Sport carried out an extensive mechanical recommissioning, and they have maintained the car through its UK life.

The car's credentials extend beyond the mechanical. It won the Pirelli Prestige and Performance Competition for 1980s and 1990s supercars at the 2016 Salon Privé concours at Blenheim Palace, and was featured in Classic & Sports Car magazine, where then Jaguar chief development engineer Alastair McQueen drove it.
