About this car

Chassis 33 of just 281 built, this 1992 XJ220 occupies a well-documented and verifiable place in the model's production history. Originally delivered on 16th December 1992 as part of the Belgian Jaguar Importers' private collection, it crossed to the UK in 2015 with only 1,080km recorded — at which point Don Law Sport, the pre-eminent XJ220 specialists, carried out a full mechanical recommissioning and have maintained it ever since. In 2016 it took first place in the Pirelli Prestige and Performance Competition at Salon Privé, held at Blenheim Palace, and was subsequently driven and written up in Classic & Sportscar by Jaguar's then chief development engineer Alastair McQueen.

Presented in Monza Red over a beige leather interior, the car carries just 2,000 miles from new — exceptional for a 33-year-old example and a testament to careful custodianship rather than storage neglect, given its active concours and press history. The twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 produces 542 bhp and propels the XJ220 to a claimed 217 mph, making it one of the fastest production cars of its era.

The documentation file is unusually complete: from the original deposit receipt dated 1990 through the full Belgian and UK ownership history to a 2024 Don Law service bill. For a car that regularly surfaces with incomplete paperwork, this level of traceability is a genuine rarity and a material part of the car's value.
