About this car
The 2006 Ford GT is one of the most significant American supercars ever built — a mid-engined, supercharged tribute to the GT40s that dominated Le Mans in the 1960s, produced in limited numbers across just two model years. This example, showing 21,000 miles from new, is presented in Centennial White with blue racing stripes: the most evocative colour combination available and a direct nod to the original GT40's heritage livery. Every factory option was specified from new.
Subsequent ownership has added purposeful, sympathetic upgrades. The GT101 shortened pulley increases boost beyond the standard 550bhp output, while the Akrapovic exhaust improves breathing and transforms the supercharged V8's soundtrack. Service history runs through GT101 and Mountune — the two workshops best placed to maintain these cars correctly. The BBS lightweight forged alloy wheels (18" front, 19" rear) and carbon-fibre-structured leather seats are factory items; the rear bumper delete is a clean, popular modification that sharpens the tail's appearance without altering the car structurally. Grey-painted Brembo calipers and HID headlights complete a specification that is both well-considered and well-documented.
Fewer than 4,100 Ford GTs were built worldwide across the 2005–2006 production run, and UK-supplied, low-mileage, fully-optioned manual examples are genuinely hard to source. The Ricardo 6-speed gearbox remains one of the defining elements of the driving experience, and the dry-sump 5.4-litre V8 — delivering its performance without turbo lag or artificial filtering — has made these cars consistently more desirable as the years pass.
