Listed today at Bob Houghton, Cheltenham. Last checked today.
This is a one-off re-bodied Ferrari Testarossa, designed by Robert Horne, owner of Horne's Tailors, and built with Bob Houghton Ltd handling the mechanical work. The donor car, chassis 87193, was supplied by Evans Halshaw and registered H540ARR. The shape was developed from sketches into a wind tunnel model and tested at MIRA under Geoff Carr to refine downforce and drag.
The original chassis was stripped and fitted with a new hand-built aluminium body by Shapecraft, finished in the early 2000s and painted by Spraytech. The original engine was retained. Changes include a bespoke aluminium dashboard, revised suspension, new wiring, Ferrari 550 Maranello race seats and Ferrari 360 Challenge wheels.
The car won the Ladies' Cup Trophy at the 2003 Ferrari Owners Club UK Concours. It has covered 16,314 miles, only about 1,000 of them since completion, and has been stored and serviced throughout. A history file includes the design sketches, wind tunnel data, the test model and photographs of the concours.
