About this car
Ferrari's switch to forced induction arrived with the California T, and this 2016 car shows how well the idea worked. The 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 was the first turbocharged V8 in a road-going Ferrari since the F40, delivering 560 bhp and 557 lb ft, with 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds and a 196 mph top speed. Variable boost management was used to keep the throttle response and rev-happy character of the old naturally aspirated cars, and the retractable hardtop keeps it usable as a long-distance tourer.
This example has covered 22,915 miles and is finished in Bianco Avus with a black painted roof and Nero DS two-tone bodywork. Scuderia Ferrari shields sit on the wings, yellow calipers show behind 20-inch forged diamond wheels, and the car has advanced front lighting and electrochromic mirrors. Magneride dual-mode suspension is fitted, which is a worthwhile addition for a car that will often be driven at a relaxed pace.
The cabin has been re-trimmed to a bespoke specification in grey leather and Alcantara, with Daytona-style seats, Giallo stitching and seat belts, and the Cavallino stitched into the headrests. A carbon fibre driver zone with integrated LEDs, a yellow rev counter and aluminium footrests add to the theme. Practical equipment includes Apple CarPlay, a high-power Hi-Fi, front and rear parking cameras, tyre pressure monitoring and a Navtrak anti-theft system.
