This is a one-off interpretation of the Ferrari 250 GTO rather than a factory car. It is built on the shortened chassis of a 1978 right-hand-drive Ferrari 400, cut down to the 250 GTO's 2,400mm wheelbase. The aluminium body was made by Scaglietti and bought from Eurospares in 1985, when the project began. It was built at Badsaddle Stables in Northamptonshire.
The car started with a Bob Houghton-built 365 four-cam V12 making around 395 bhp. It now has a dry-sump 575 Maranello V12 with Jenvey throttle bodies, DTA engine management and a six-speed manual transaxle from a 550. The engine has covered roughly 12,200 miles. A dyno test put output at about 610 bhp, in a car weighing 1,160kg. The seller quotes a GPS-recorded 204 mph at RAF Cottesmore and a Silverstone National lap of 1:02.
Suspension and steering come from a 365 GT4, with adjustable coil-overs, Wilwood brakes and Borrani wire wheels. The page records a full service in April 2026, including cambelts, and a current MOT. The odometer reads 33,000 miles. Options listed include a left-hand-drive conversion, a Series 1 GTO-style bonnet and a bespoke interior.
