2020 Ferrari 488 Pista Spider
£645,000
About this car
The 488 Pista Spider is the 50th open-top Ferrari and, with the F8 Spider offering no lightweight successor, likely the last special-series V8 drop-top to run a pure combustion powertrain. Its 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 makes 711 bhp, enough for 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds and a 211 mph top speed, and removing the roof adds the full hiss and chuff of the turbos to the soundtrack without softening the Pista's character.
This 2020 UK-supplied car has covered just 2,606 miles and is an Atelier build, finished in two-layer Grigio Squalo special paint. The interior is Blu Scuro Alcantara with Giallo stitching and leather seat-side inserts, and it has large carbon racing seats. A Canna di Fucile livery with Giallo Modena stripes, yellow brake calipers and a yellow rev counter add contrast. Carbon is used extensively: the rear diffuser, side air splitters, front flaps and vents, engine covers, sill and B-post trim and the centre console. Other fitments include 20-inch forged wheels, titanium tailpipe tips, a suspension lifter and carbon ceramic brakes.
The whole car is wrapped in paint protection film. Ferrari's seven-year servicing package runs until July 2027, and a Romans International Platinum Warranty is included. Lightweight V8 Ferrari spiders are unlikely to be repeated, so low-mileage, well-specified examples like this are increasingly sought after by collectors.
