2016 Ferrari 458 Speciale
£569,950
About this car
The 458 Speciale arrived in 2013 as Ferrari's definitive statement on the naturally aspirated V8 era, and this 2016 example — among the last produced — is specified to a level that sets it apart from most. Commissioned through Ferrari's Atelier programme, it wears Bianco Avus with the NART Livery Stripe, a direct reference to Ferrari's North American Racing Team heritage and a combination that photographs better than almost any other Speciale configuration. The carbon fibre package is comprehensive: front splitter, aero flaps, sill fins, rear diffuser, engine compartment shields, and wheel centre caps. Inside, Alcantara Nera covers virtually every surface including the headliner and wheelhouses, the Sedili Carbon Fibre Racing Seats (large) are upholstered with Rosso contrast stitching, and the white tachometer dial face completes a well-composed interior palette. Rosso Corsa calipers and Scuderia Ferrari fender shields add the expected period-correct details. At 4,658 miles from new across a decade, this car has barely been exercised.
Mechanically the Speciale is unchanged from standard, which is entirely the point: the 4.5-litre naturally aspirated V8 producing 597 bhp at a near-9,000rpm ceiling, channelled through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox to the rear wheels. The active aerodynamics and Side Slip Control system that Ferrari developed for this model remain the defining features of the driving experience — sharper and more communicable than the Italia despite identical hardware beneath. An extended Ferrari warranty valid to September 2027 is currently live, and PPF covers the full exterior.
As the last naturally aspirated V8 special series Ferrari before turbocharging became standard across the range, the Speciale holds a clear position in modern Ferrari collecting. Low-mileage Atelier cars in documented, coherent specifications like this are the ones that attract sustained interest.
