The Ferrari 296 GTS is a landmark machine — the first series-production open-top Ferrari to combine a V6 with plug-in hybrid technology, producing 819 bhp from a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 and an integrated electric motor. This 2025 example, finished in Grigio Scuro over Nero leather with Giallo stitching and embroidery, has covered just 700 miles from new and remains in essentially unworn condition. The Ferrari Genuine Maintenance Program runs until September 2032, the factory warranty until September 2029 — both unusually generous given the car's age.

The specification is thorough and well-composed. A comprehensive carbon fibre package covers the front spoiler, rear diffuser, underdoor covers, outer sill kicks, and steering wheel with integrated LEDs. Visually, the 20" forged satin black alloys and yellow brake calipers create a sharp contrast against the dark grey exterior, with Scuderia Ferrari shields on the fenders and Giallo prancing horse embroidery on the headrests tying the colour theme together. Practical additions include a front suspension lifter — essential given the 296's low nose — ventilated full electric seats, and an electrochromic mirror.

The retractable hard top, which lowers in around 14 seconds at speeds up to 28 mph, transforms the car from coupé to open berlinetta without meaningful compromise to chassis rigidity. Via the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, the PHEV powertrain delivers 0–62 mph in 2.9 seconds and a 205 mph top speed, alongside up to 15 miles of electric-only running. As a one-owner, low-mileage example with an unusually strong options list, this is about as close to new as a 296 GTS is likely to come on the used market.
