About this car
The Model A was America's first series-production car with an inline-eight engine, and it also brought four-wheel hydraulic brakes to production. Its 260 cubic inch (about 4.3-litre) overhead-cam unit drew on Duesenberg's racing work and is quoted at 88 horsepower. The Model A has long sat in the shadow of the later Model J.
This car carries a sport phaeton body by Millspaugh & Irish, the Indianapolis coachbuilder behind most Model A bodies. It has been restored to original specification in a three-tone scheme: dove grey body, dark grey wings, and a deep red chassis and wheels. The cabin is black leather, the hood black canvas with a full set of side curtains, and the engine is painted the correct light dove grey of early cars. It has an ACD #1 certification and was shown at Pebble Beach after restoration.
The car is not currently registered in the UK and is on US papers as a temporary import. The chassis number is 798 and the engine number 1111. The page shows the price marked as accepted, so it may be under offer.
